Most southern point in Norway

The most southern point in Norway is Lindesnes Fyr (or Lindesnes Lighthouse) and was established in 1656, though what you can see now is the lighthouse that was rebuilt in 1915.
Lindesnes lighthouse is still a working lighthouse, but now it runs automatically and you can visit the 16 meter tower. If you want to you can walk up the narrow steps and enjoy the views from the lighthouse.

When to visit?
Though it is open all year round, I would suggest to visit during the summer even though it is high peak season. This is also when most Norwegians visit the lighthouse. Some even set out on a road trip from Lindesnes to Nordkapp which is the most northern point in Norway.

How to visit?
By car is definitly the easiest option. Though when I was there, I saw a couple of tourbuses so that is also a possibility. To take a taxi in Norway is expensive and a rental car would be cheaper.

You might think “What else is close by? This is just a lighthouse”. No worries, there are a lot of scenic walks to do in the area, if not you are by the sea and there are a lot of beaches around that you can visit in the summer. If not, Kristiansand is a short drive away if that is not where you were staying. Nordberg fort or Sjølingstad Uldvarefabrik which shows textile heritage in Norway. Though a bit further north west is Helleren which I personally would recommend.
